Why Akumal, Mexico
Emotional healing retreat
Akumal, known as the “Place of Turtles,” is one of the most serene and healing environments in Mexico. With its turquoise Caribbean waters, quiet beaches, and lush jungle surroundings, it offers the perfect backdrop for deep rest and renewal.
Here, the rhythm of nature slows you down.
The ocean invites release.
The jungle holds you.
The stillness allows you to finally hear yourself again.
This is not just a location.
It’s part of the healing..
Mexico is warm and inviting, and I found that I could heal my broken heart here, and learn to live along side of my grief. I will share with you all I have done for my own healing.
I scouted different locations for the retreat, and just found that this villa in Akumal felt very warm and inviting. I trust that you will too.
Who This Is For
This retreat is for you if:
You are a grieving mother navigating the loss of a child
A bereaved mom, or woman
You are carrying grief that feels heavy and unresolved
You feel disconnected from yourself or your body
You are tired of holding everything together
You are longing for rest, support, and understanding
You do not need to have experience with yoga.
You only need a willingness to come as you are. This is a sacred pause.
A space where you are not expected to be strong.
Where your grief is not something to hide or move past.
Where your story is honored.
Through gentle movement, breath, and connection, you begin to create space inside yourself again.
Many women describe this experience as something they could not find in traditional therapy alone — a place where they could feel, release, and be supported without judgment.
What This Retreat Is
Over the course of your stay, you’ll experience a gentle, supportive rhythm designed to help your nervous system settle and your body begin to release.

Day of the Dead Altar building- Honouring Your Loved One
This retreat is intentionally held during the time of Day of the Dead in Mexico.
This is not about sadness.
It is about remembrance, love, and connection.
You will have the opportunity to:
Create a personal altar (ofrenda) for your loved one
Participate in meaningful rituals of remembrance
Honour their life in a way that feels deeply personal
This cultural experience offers a powerful shift:
From loss… to connection
From absence… to remembrance
Participants often describe this as one of the most healing parts of the retreat — a way to feel close to their loved one again. This is not about appropriating the Mexican culture, it is about embracing how they honour and celebrate their lost loved ones.
If you do plan to come to the retreat, please go and watch COCO, the movie, it will give you a deeper understanding.
